Armand Bayou Nature Center – the largest urban wildlife refuge and wilderness preserve in the U.S. covers 2,500 acres adjacent to NASA/JSC. Some 40,000 visitors annually benefit from educational tours, exhibits, events and classes.
Bayou Wildlife Park – Feed animals and birds from Africa, India, Asia, Australia and South America. An adventure-filled tram ride takes you over 86 acres if natural habitat.
Battleship Texas – Anchored at the San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site where visitors can experience history first-hand. The only surviving combat ship to have served in both World Wars, the Battleship Texas became the first memorial museum of its kind in the U.S.
Schlitterbahn Galveston Island Waterpark – With its huge array of aquatic adventures, Schlitterbahn can be your personal happy place! During the summer, the park offers over 33 amazing rides and attractions. The Heated Indoor Season, October-April, features more than a dozen heated attractions in a tropical, heated indoor oasis.
Historic League City – Features quaint homes and businesses along a picturesque tree-lined boulevard (FM 518). Many of the restored buildings date back to the late 1800s.
Kemah Boardwalk – “The Fun Never Stops” at Kemah Boardwalk. A carnival midway filled with rides and amusements, great restaurants, a hotel, and marina are the main attractions. Holiday events, festivals, exhibits, and live entertainment throughout the year draw an estimated 3 million visitors. The boardwalk is family entertainment at it’s best in the Clear Lake area.
Moody Gardens – A tropical destination for families and groups. Explore the all new Rainforests of the World along within the Aquarium Pyramid, the Discovery Museum and the action of the IMAX 3D, 4D or Ridefilm theaters.
San Jacinto Monument & Museum – Site of the battle that won Texas independence from Mexico. The world’s largest monument tower invites visitors to learn about events that shaped Texas history.
Space Center Houston – A huge entertainment and educational complex designed by Disney Imagineering, offers hands-on, space-related experiences to visitors. In addition to a full size reproduction of the space shuttle, guests can use computer trainers to perform operations similar to the ones the astronauts used to launch a satellite or land a shuttle.
